JT has gotten to know one of the Little League dads. Tonight he was telling me about a conversation they had recently. JT told of searching all over the country for a job, and Mitch got worried. He asked, "You wouldn't leave before the season is over, would you?" As we chuckled over Mitch's response, Parker yelled from the back seat: "What season is over?" Now this a a common occurrence lately; Parker will miss most of a conversation, pick up the closing sentence, and want the entire conversation repeated for him. We're a little tired of this, so JT answered, "Mango season." Well, this went straight over Parker's head and he asked, "How did Mitch know you like mangoes?"
Recently we were driving home and the Christian station we usually listen to was all talk. So we flipped to an odd local station that plays some of everything. And there was Celine Dion singing about the Power of Love. I haven't heard that in forever, so I cranked it up and sang along. Parker wanted to know what it was about, and I told him it's a love song. He listened for awhile, most of the song really. Finally he called, "Turn it off! This is disgusting!!!!" Ah, don't you love a ten year old boy for some good romantic perspective!
