Tree Lighting

Every year the local fire department sets up a Christmas tree on the pier, so we went to the tree lighting Sunday night.

(These photos are terrible, sorry--JT's phone can't handle the sharp contrast of bright lights and dark night.)

After the tree was lit, they started a huge bonfire on the beach. These flames were at least 20 feet high!

Soon, we heard sirens screaming toward us from way up the hill; sure enough, the fire department heard about the bonfire.

OK, actually they built and lit the bonfire themselves so they had an "excuse" to show up--with Santa aboard :-)
