This is the Bible I bought in '91. Bound in bonded leather, it did well to last 20 years.
This year I asked for a new Bible for my birthday, but when we went shopping I discovered that the NIV translation has been updated to be more gender-neutral. Eeek!!! So I decided, instead, to have my old version (which includes all my college notes, etc) rebound instead. It's been a looooong month without my favorite Bible! It just arrived today, bound in a rich brown cowhide with copper embossing and extra ribbons. It feels so nice compared to the old binding. This one should last another 40 years, I hope.
