Nelson and Jenn wrote recently to say that Emily is learning to read, but doesn't always love to practice her reading, and that notes of encouragement would be helpful. I thought it over and decided that a card that was fun to read would be the thing. So I collected some entertaining children's poems and printed them into a "book" card. I even figured out how to bind it, and love how it turned out. I hope Emily does too!
(and yes, I'm aware that they're beyond her reading level--but I decided on interesting items that would keep her attention a little longer. Hopefully after Mom and Dad read them to her a few times she'll start to own them (think Krissy and her
Summer Friends book!) )
