Flu?

Parker and JT both came down with the pukies late Sunday night.  By 2:30 Monday morning, Parker was through the worst and JT was just getting started.  I had to call the medics because he was fairly incoherent, and then he spent 14 hours in the ER while they tried to figure out why he wasn't responding to any of the meds.  He had an x-ray, then a CT scan, and then a spinal tap.  And lots of bloodwork of course.  In the end all they could find was elevated white counts and he was still retching hideously, so they admitted him.  By Tuesday morning he finally stopped vomiting and became much more lucid, so at least the worst was over.  We still don't know if it was viral and ran its course, or if it's bacterial and responding to the antibiotics running in his IV.  So they're keeping him until they get the lab cultures back, sometime on Wed.  We'll see what the day brings; now that he's feeling better he wants desperately to come home.  And we want him home!

Dad came up late Monday night to help me with Parker and everything going on.  Parker feels quite fine and went to school today so Dad played chauffeur and that was a huge help.  Moral support was even more important!
